His vision was developed in a pre-election gathering at the Cultural Center of Pegeia by Father Ioannis Proto-Shigel of the Holy Archdiocese and Abbot of the Monastery of Apostolos Varnavas and candidate for the Metropolitan throne, according to a statement from his support group.
At the gathering, Father Ioannis developed his goals which are, among others, as reported, the upgrading of the Diocese of Paphos and its work both in matters of faith and spiritual cultivation as well as charity. Also the expansion of the scholarship fund of the Holy Metropolis, the care of military children and support with contacts, speeches and visits.
Among other things, his goal is also his contribution to the upgrade of the cardiac department of the Paphos General Hospital , in accelerating the implementation of the cancer department at the Paphos Hospital, in supporting the holy clergy of the Paphos district, the maintenance of holy churches and where necessary the construction of new ones, the promotion of the issue of the construction of a cathedral in cooperation with all agencies to find a better for the Paphos solution.
