The Price Index of Construction Materials reached a historically high level in April 2022, with the prices of construction materials jumping by 24.54%, compared to April 2021, mainly due to 42% increase in the prices of metal products.
According to the Statistical Service, the Price Index of Construction Materials for the month of April 2022 amounted to 132.69 points (based on 2015 = 100), recording an increase of 5.60%, compared to the previous month. This is the highest level of the Index since 1986.
Compared to the corresponding month of the previous year, the index recorded an increase of 24.54%.

By main product category, according to the Statistical Service, increases were recorded in metal products (42.35%), in wood products, insulation, chemicals and plastics (24.77%) , in electromechanical items (16.39%), in mineral products (9.96%) and in minerals (8.72%).
