The arrest of three persons was made by the Police in the context of the investigation of a case concerning poaching of wild animals.
After evaluating information, according to the Police, members of the Thera Service, located yesterday morning two vehicles, located parked in the area of Kampos.
The drivers of the two vehicles, as soon as they realized the presence of the members of Thira, developed speed and left the area.
One vehicle was stopped by the Thera Service and members of the Police were called to the area.
Examinations that followed revealed that the driver was 71 years old, with passengers 24 years old and 21 years old.
A subsequent search of the vehicle turned up a disassembled shotgun and 13 full cartridges.
Also, in the possession of the 24-year-old, a folding knife with an 11 cm long blade was found.
As part of the examinations and investigations, in a riverbed, two wild animals (with their heads cut off) were found in bags, which were taken as evidence.
The three men were issued warrants and arrested in the early hours of today to facilitate investigations.
The Kampos Police Station in collaboration with the TAE of Morphou continue the examinations.
