What did Markle do to catch us … unexpectedly?

On Valentine's Day, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry announced they were expecting their second child. The announcement was made in a tender black-and-white photo taken via iPad by photographer Misan Harriman, showing Harry sitting on the grass barefoot with Markle lying on his knees wearing a Carolina Herrera dress.
But what surprised us was how bloated Markle's belly is. Since the couple is a favorite topic of newspapers and websites, it is strange that we did not understand something. But is it?
Certainly social distancing helped things. If we think about it, when Markle was waiting for Archie she had shared very little information with the media, so she probably follows the same tactics. In addition, as many times as we saw her, it was through a video call where she appeared from the chest and up, which makes sense since we all appear more or less in similar circumstances. For example, in the recent surprise appearance in the group of poets, her frame shows her from the chest up, but no one wondered why.
On the other hand, a month ago, on the Christmas card sent by Sussex, we see her wearing a white shirt, but the end result made the photo look like a painting, so nothing could be seen.
We can, therefore, realize that it was not exactly the couple's strategy but rather the circumstances that helped to prevent the pregnancy from being learned before the official announcement.
