The amount of 424,390.00 euros cost after a tender the purchase of an Anti-Protest Vehicle (Riot Control Vehicle) according to data from the Electronic Contracting System of the General Accounting Department of Public Procurement (https://www.eprocurement.gov.cy/)

In a relevant search on the website, it appears that the announcement of the tender was made on 10/01/2019 with reference number 13.25.002.007 and concerned the “supply of one (1) Anti-Protest Vehicle (Riot Control Vehicle) as well as training in use and maintenance” . The notice also states that “the Execution Duration of the contract will be Twenty eight (28) weeks for the delivery of the vehicle from the date of signing the contract and within four (4) weeks from the date of delivery of the vehicle for staff training.”

Two corrective announcements followed for a change in the date for the deadline for receipt of tenders or requests to participate.

According to the Notification of concluded contract which was published on 18/02/2020, the tender was won by the Israeli company BEIT ALFA TECHNOLOGIES with a total value of supplies (excluding VAT) of € 424,390.00. It is noted that the initial estimated total value of the contract amounted to € 462,185.00. The same text states that a total of three bids were received during the tender.

Characteristically, Greece should have purchased a corresponding vehicle with the name “Aiantas” from an Israeli company at a cost of € 350,000. According to relevant publications in Greece, the vehicle carries 6,000 liters of water with the ability to spray paint. It has a camera, mini control, while the crew has undergone special training by the company that supplied them to EL.AS.
