An event of the MC Media Group was held with complete success last night at the Municipal Theater of Strovolos, with the main speaker being the professor of Linguistics Mr. Georgios Babiniotis on the topic “Language in the Mass Media and in Education”.
The response of the public to our Group's invitation was enormous and the professor developed and analyzed a series of topics related to linguistic science , while for the first time the audience had the opportunity to talk with himand to ask him a series of questions about the Greek language.
Professor Babiniotis mentioned, among other things, the universality and timelessness of the Greek language, the dangers of its corruption, the role of the Media and Education, the Cypriot dialect , Greeklish, Spelling, the relationship between Common Greek and Greek Cypriot Dialect and much more.

< p>A special moment at the event, when the audience took the floor and put their questions to Professor Babiniotis, who was happy to answer and solve questions.
In his greeting, at the start of the event, the General Manager of MC Media Mr. Christos Maragosafter welcoming and thanking the professor for his presence, he mentioned, among other things, that the Group, as an online organization, is always at the forefront of developments, noting the importance of language as a tool, in order to accurately convey news and information to the reading public. “With the right words, with respect to the reader, viewer, listener, so that we can communicate effectively and have a clear message” said Mr. Maragos who also noted the uniqueness of the content of each word, also referring to the work of the Nobel laureate poet Odysseus Elytis ” Little Nautilus”.

The Non-Profit Organization of the Blue Heart Group,which prioritizes young people and their education, honored Professor Babiniotis for his multifaceted contribution to the language and education of Greece and Cyprus. The Deputy President of Blue Heart Mrs. Evi Maragou announced that at the end of the school year the Organization will grant two full scholarships for studies at a university institution in Cyprus.
