The incident with the video recording of hunters by an activist was commented on the morning show of Radio Proto by the president of “Active Citizens” Movement of United Cypriot Hunters', Nikolas Prodromou.

In particular, he said that "for a few years now, these NGOs have started to create some groups with activists, who usually come from foreign countries and create various problems and harass the legal hunting activity. It's a burning issue, it's been pushed to the limit. They have become so insolent, that they have reached the point of entering private properties, conducting checks on properties in rural areas, they have become an abomination.

He noted that in Cyprus there is no legislation on the issue of activists. Besides, in their announcement they had mentioned that "we are bringing back again the issue of establishing legislation for the action of activists as it happens in other European countries. We have sent relevant legislation to all political parties in the past and never received a response. No party even registered the issue for debate in parliament. We don't need to mourn victims in order to do the obvious.

He complained to Radio First that some activists get a commission from complaints in addition to their basic salary, so they try to find anything incriminating about the hunters.

She wondered "what would happen in the event that someone shot her, since she was not wearing insignia according to the law, who would be responsible?".
