In Lebanon today, President Christodoulidis – He will raise the issue of increased immigration flows
At the focus of President Christodoulidis's contacts today in Beirut, it is expected to be the ways to deal of increased migration flows from Lebanon to Cyprus.
The president of the Republic is scheduled to have private meeting with the prime minister of the country, while extended talks will follow between the delegations of the two countries.
The president Christodoulidis will also have a meeting with the Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament.
The PtD will be accompanied by the Ministers of Interior and Foreign Affairs, the Government Spokesperson, the Chief of the National Guard, the Commander of the KYP and the National Security Advisor .
The uncontrolled “invasion” of immigrants last week in our country brought strong concerns to the government and authorities, who are looking for ways to deal with it.

-President and competent Ministers of Interior and Foreign Affairs, as well as other state officials, are ready to request resumption of intensive inspections on the coast of Lebanon.
-The focus will be on the position of Cyprus for further financial and not only support from the European Union to Lebanon, so that the country can increase its border controls.
-Also on the table, the Government is expected to bring back the issue of the agreement between the two countries so that Lebanon will, under conditions, accept back boats with immigrants.
-It is also expected to be discussed the issue of Frontex in order to prevent the departure of boats as well as the involvement of Europol to dismantle migrant rings.
