The contract of the project “Business Innovation Center – Creative Business District – Restoration and expansion of Old Municipal Market” was signed on Tuesday, 05/01/2021 between the Mayor of Nicosia Konstantinos Giorkatzis and the director of Lois Builders Limited Nikolaos Lois.

The project includes the maintenance and restoration of the building of the Municipal Market of the old City Hall in its center within the city walls next to the green line.
The building will host the operations of the Center for Excellence in Research and Innovation CYENS (formerly RISE) and is part of the priorities of the strategy of the Municipality of Nicosia for Integrated Sustainable Urban Development to promote research, innovation and entrepreneurship.
The cost of the project amounts to € 4,927,000.00 plus VAT and the architect of the project is Mr. George Tsangaridis, Architect of the Municipality of Nicosia ERSL.
