In an extraordinary meeting today, the so-called “Council of Ministers” of the occupiers, took new extraordinary decisions to deal with the pandemic of the new coronavirus.
According to statements by the so-called “prime minister” Ersan Saner, from tomorrow, February 5, until February 15, ie for a period of ten days, the occupied areas will enter a total lockdown. In addition, Mr. Saner stated that on Sunday, February 7 and 14, no workplaces will be open except pharmacies.
In addition, the so-called “prime minister” announced that all businesses are closing, except pharmacies, gas stations and basic services such as grocery stores. Banks will also close from 8 to 12 February. Finally, during the lockdown, intensive tests will be performed. For this reason, Mr. Saner stated that 150 thousand PCR tests and 3 separate test devices will be purchased in order to increase the number of tests.
It is recalled that today there was a new record of cases in the occupied territories. Specifically, 81 new cases of COVID disease were identified19. The 21 new cases were detected in Nicosia, 49 in Kyrenia, 5 in Famagusta and 4 in Morphou
