Total deposits in July 2024 recorded a net increase of €164.7m, compared to a net decrease of €44.1m in June 2024, according to data released on Wednesday the Central Bank of Cyprus (CBC).
The annual rate of change of total deposits reached 2.9%, compared to 2.0% in June 2024. The rest of the total of deposits in July 2024 reached €53.4 billion.
The deposits of Cypriot residents showed an increase of €230.7 million. In more detail, household deposits decreased by €59.9 million, while deposits of domestic non-financial companies recorded an increase of €217.4 million. The deposits of the remaining domestic sectors showed a total increase of €73.2 million.
Total loans in July 2024 recorded a net decrease of €7.2 million. , compared to a net increase of €234.6m in June 2024. The annual rate of change in total loans reached 2.0%, compared to 1.6% in June 2024. The balance of total loans in July 2024 reached to €25.0 billion
Loans to Cypriot residents showed a decrease of €139.0 million. More specifically, loans to households increased by €16.2 million, while loans to non-financial companies recorded a decrease of €136.5 million. The loans of the remaining domestic sectors showed a total decrease of €18.7 million.
