Industrial production increased by 7.5% in 2021, compared to 2020, according to the Statistical Service, with most economic activities recording increases.
Only in December, the Index Industrial Production reached 137.0 units (base 2015 = 100), recording an increase of 4.7%, compared to December 2020.
In the manufacturing sector was observed in December 2021 an increase of 2 , 9% compared to December 2020.
An increase was also recorded in the sectors of water supply and materials recovery (+ 27.6%), electricity supply (+ 8.9%) and mines and quarries (+ 0.3%).
At the same time, in the manufacturing sector, according to the Statistical Service, positive changes, compared to December 2020, showed most economic activities with the largest of them relating to the activities: manufacturing of electronic and optical products and electrical equipment (+40, 2%), manufacture of furniture, other manufacturing activities and repair and installation of machinery and equipment (+ 35.3%), manufacture of machinery and equipment, motor vehicles and other transport equipment (+ 16.5%), manufacture of paper and products from paper and printing (+ 8.1%) and production of textiles, clothing and leather goods (+ 5.9%).
The only negative changes were observed in the production activities of petroleum refining products, chemicals and products and pharmaceuticals and preparations (-23.5%), manufacturing of other non-metallic mineral products (-7.5%) and production of basic metals and manufacturing of metallic products (-1.7%).
Industrial production for 2021, compared to 2020
According to the Statistical Service, comparing the rates of change for January – December & nbsp; 2021 with the corresponding period of 2020, there are increases in most economic activities.
The largest increases concern the activities: Manufacture of electronic and optical products and electrical equipment (+ 56.8%), collection, treatment and supply of water (+ 26.6%), manufacture of furniture, other manufacturing activities and repair and installation of machinery and equipment (+ 20.8%), mines and quarries (+ 16.0%), recovery of materials (+ 12.5%), construction of machinery and equipment, motor vehicles and other transport equipment (+ 12.1%), construction rubber and plastic products (+ 10.3%) and base metal production and metal fabrication (+ 10.3%).
The only activities in which there was a decrease in production compared to January – December 2020 were those of the production of oil refining products, chemicals and products and pharmaceuticals and preparations (-10.2%), production of textiles, clothing and leather goods (-4.7%) and wood industry and manufacture of wood and cork products, except furniture (-0.3%).
