Inflation in February 2023 rose at a rate of 6.7%, with the Consumer Price Index up 0.87 points to 112.88 points compared to 112.01 points in January 2023.

Analysis of percentage changes
Compared to February 2022, the largest changes were observed in the categories Housing, Water Supply, Electricity and LPG, which increased by 18.1% and Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverages, with an increase of 9.6 %.
Compared to January 2023, the largest change was seen in the Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverages category, with an increase of 3.6%.
Impact Analysis in units
The categories Housing, Water Supply, Electricity and Gas, with 2.43 units and Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverages, with 1.97 units, had the greatest impact on the change in the CPI of February 2023 compared to February 2022. Electricity had the greatest impact on the change in the February 2023 CPI compared to the February 2022 index, with 1.68 points.
In relation to the previous month, the Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverages category had the largest positive effect on the change in the CPI with 0.78 points. Fresh vegetables with 0.62 points had the biggest positive effect on the change in the CPI of February 2023 compared to the corresponding index of the previous month.
January-February 2023
For the period January – February 2023, the CPI recorded an increase of 6.9% compared to the corresponding period last year. During this period, the biggest changes were presented in the Housing, Water Supply, Electricity and LPG categories with 17.7% and Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverages with 10.2%.
