Inflation in Cyprus is -0.9%

Annual inflation in the euro area is expected to be 0.9% in February 2021, stable compared to January, according to a preliminary estimate by Eurostat, the European Union's statistical office.

Examining the main components of inflation in the euro area, food, alcohol and tobacco are expected to have the highest annual contribution in February (1.4%, compared to 1.5% in January), followed by services (1 , 2%, compared to 1.4% in January), non-energy industrial goods (1.0%, compared to 1.5% in January) and energy (-1.7%, compared to – 4.2% in January).

In Cyprus, inflation is expected to be -0.9% in February, compared to -0.8% in January, while a year earlier it was 1.0%. In Greece, inflation is expected to be -1.9 in February, compared to -2.4% in January, while a year ago it was 0.4%.
