The de-escalation of measures to stop the new coronavirus after January 31st is considered certain, with the Scientific Team of the Ministry of Health clearly showing the path followed last May and June, after the first wave of the pandemic in Cyprus.
According to information from KYPE, the epidemiologists have formalized the suggestions that they will make tomorrow at the meeting, which will take place at the Presidential Palace, under the President of the Republic, Nikos Anastasiadis, with the final decisions to be taken at the next meeting of the Council of Ministers.
According to the same information, the relaxations will focus on approximately the same plan of last May – June, with some differences, which may be suggested by the Ministries involved.
The sms remain
However, it is certain that any relaxations decided will not encourage mass exits, nor will they cancel the text messages (sms) on 8998, which will remain in everyday life, with the possibility of increasing them from two to three.
What remains to be done, however, is what will happen when students return to school.
Which students return?
According to the information of KYPE, the scenarios for the return of the students to the desks are two, that is, one favors the gradual return of the students, starting with the classes of the Primary School and the other the return of the final year students of the 3rd Lyceum, for proper preparation of their exams.
The final decision, however, will be made by the Ministry of Education.
Opening of shopping malls and restaurants during the second stage of de-escalation
Decisions on the opening of shopping malls and restaurants are suggestions, always according to the same information, that will be discussed in the second stage of de-escalation of measures, as the epidemiological picture at that stage will allow.
Tomorrow's meeting at the Presidential Palace under the President of the Republic will take place at 11:30, during which the current epidemiological picture will be reviewed.
