The Department of Urban Planning and Housing of the Ministry of Interior signed a contract for the installation of elevators and other related works in nine existing apartment buildings in the Government Settlement Kokkines, in Nicosia.
In its announcement, the competent Department states that the contract was signed on Friday with the Company MILONAS S&N CONSTRUCTIONS LTD and concerns the installation of elevators and other related works in nine existing apartment buildings in the Government Settlement Kokkines, with the amount of € 1.99. , 36 plus VAT
The relevant works are expected to be completed in a period of 18 months.
According to the Department of Urban Planning and Housing, this project falls under the “Elevator Installation Program in Existing Apartment Buildings of Government Settlements”, which concerns 368 cases nationwide.
This program is implemented by the Department of Urban Planning and Housing and to date the installation of a total of 115 elevators in existing apartment buildings has been completed.
It is noted that the immediate priority is given to the apartment buildings in which the elderly or people with special mobility needs live.
In the next period, the signing of two more contracts is planned for the installation of eight more elevators, in apartment buildings in the provinces of Nicosia and Limassol.
Specifically, four elevators will be installed in apartment buildings in the Government Settlement of Athalassa and one in the Government Settlement of Agios Georgios, Nicosia District, as well as two elevators in the Government Settlement of Makarios III and one elevator in the Government House of Aigni.
Also, two tenders are in the process of being announced for the installation of elevators in an additional 13 apartment buildings.
Specifically, they will concern the installation of three elevators in the Government Settlement Agioi Anargyroi II and five elevators in the Government Settlement Agios Ioannis of Larnaca Province, as well as five elevators in the Government Settlement Makarios III in the District of Limassol.
According to the Department of Urban Planning and Housing, the preparation of studies for the installation of elevators in another 30 apartment buildings in Government Settlements of Nicosia, Larnaca and Limassol is also in progress.
