The call for applications for the 2024-25 scholarship program of five million euros for the Turkish Cypriot community was published on Thursday by the Commission.
Applications for the academic year 2024-2025 will be accepted until April 2, 2024 at 23:59 Cyprus time. All interested candidates are invited to apply online through the EU Bursaries website ( www.euburs.eu ).
The program provides opportunities in various fields and levels of education for Turkish Cypriot students at European universities, as well as training and professional development opportunities. Since 2007 the program has supported students and professionals throughout the Turkish Cypriot community.
The European scholarship program also aims to contribute to the economic development of the community by enhancing knowledge as well as technical and social skills in various priority areas, from software engineering to technologies related to sustainable energy, for which skills are in demand in the labor market.
In addition to the general call for proposals, the program also includes the “Alumni Connect” initiative, which aims to connect approximately 2,150 Turkish Cypriot citizens who have benefited from the scholarship program since 2007.
The EU scholarship program is fully funded by the EU and implemented by the Goethe Institute from 2022.
