There were no reports of civilian casualties during the operation
US and Iraqi military forces conducted a joint operation against Islamic State in western Iraq, during which killed 15 fighters of the jihadist organization, announced today the headquarters of the American armed forces in charge of the Middle East region (U.S. Central Command or CENTCOM).
According to the information from CENTCOM, the jihadist group had “weapons, grenades and belts with explosives (including for suicide kamikaze attacks)”. It is emphasized that there were no reports of civilian casualties during the operation, which was conducted on the morning of Thursday, August 29.
Pointing out that the Islamic State jihadist organization still represents a threat, CENTCOM assures that its forces in cooperation with Iraqi allies will continue to hunt down terrorists.
