The new vaccination certificate will now be issued to those who have had three doses of the vaccine or have recently recovered from Covid, replacing the previous two-dose system.
From Tuesday, shopkeepers or event organizers will have to scan the digital code to allow entry. There are some exceptions, such as museums and libraries. About 37% of the population of 9.4 million Israelis have received a booster third dose of the vaccine.
In recent days, the number of patients has been declining, as well as the number of daily confirmed cases, which have fallen below 4,000, after reaching 10,000 last month.
