Not quite a year has passed since the death of Silvio Berlusconi, and Cavaliere is back in the Italian news. This time because of donations.

As the ANSA news agency points out, Berlusconi's friend-advisor and former senator, Marcello dell'Utri, today saw the Florence Prosecutor's Office order him to confiscate more than 18 million euros (albeit).

< p>According to the Prosecutor's Office, del'Utri – who was convicted of external cooperation in a mafia-style network – under relevant law, should have reported any transactions of any amount over €10,330, which the former senator allegedly failed to do .

In detail, the undeclared income includes “interest-free loans” that Silvio Berlusconi had paid to the dell'Utri family (Marcello, his wife and their son), but also an amount of 30,000 euros per month that Cavaliere paid from 2021. The total amount exceeds 42.5 million euros.

At this point we should emphasize that La Repubblica speaks of a seizure of more than 20 million euros, and underlines that the calculation of the total amount of the dell'Utri's earnings by Silvio Berlusconi “excludes the bequest of 30 million euros that he indicated the Cavaliere in his will in favor of his friend-advisor”.

As Corriere della Sera underlines, Marcello dell'Utri continues to be investigated “for the crime of complicity in a serious massacre for mafia and terrorist purposes , in relation to the attacks carried out by Cosa Nostra in 1993 in the Tuscan capital, Rome and Milan, until the failed bomb explosion outside the Olympic stadium in Rome in January 1994”.

< p>According to the Florence Prosecutor's Office “the analysis of Silvio Berlusconi's financial flows to Marcello dell'Utri and his family leads us to believe that the disbursements constitute compensation in favor of dell'Utri for the convictions he suffered and the his silence in the criminal trials that saw him and that see him involved”.
