“My ministry, for this case, did not spend a single euro” repeated
The Italian Minister of Culture Gennaro Sanjuliano, in an interview on the Italian public television Rai, he referred to the developments concerning his relationship with the “influencer” and entrepreneur Maria Rosaria Botcia.
“My ministry, for this case, did not spend a single euro. I paid everything myself, as evidenced by my bank account and credit card transactions,” Sangiuliano said.
He added that he submitted his resignation to Prime Minister Georgia Meloni – whom he met yesterday – but she herself decided not to accept it.
In response to a question from Rai Uno's news director, at the same time, the Italian minister emphasized: “it is a very delicate and difficult issue for me. We had a personal, emotional relationship with Mrs Botcia, this is one of the reasons that led me to cancel her appointment as my adviser. However, I am not blackmailable, because I did not use public money in an inappropriate way”.
