Tourist arrivals in July 2021 amounted to 297,308, showing an increase of 358.0% compared to July 2020 (during which 64,914 arrivals were recorded), as well as a decrease of 46.0% compared to July 2019 (with 550,971 Arrivals)
For the period January – July 2021, tourist arrivals amounted to 638,292 compared to 320,589 in the corresponding period of 2020, recording an increase of 99.1% and a decrease of 70.7% compared to the period January – July 2019 (2,181,994 arrivals ).
Arrivals from Russia were the main source of tourism for July 2021, accounting for 28.2% (83,926) of total arrivals, arrivals from the United Kingdom 9.8% (29,149), arrivals from Poland in 7.6% (22,460), arrivals from Israel 5.4% (16,171), arrivals from Ukraine 5.0% (14,731) and arrivals from Greece 4.7% (13,957).
The purpose of travel in July 2021 was for 85.0% of tourists the holidays, for 11.3% the visit to friends or relatives and for 3.7% business. Respectively, for July 2020, 70.6% visited Cyprus for holidays, 20.1% for visiting friends or relatives and 9.3% for business reasons.
