The president of AEK, Andros Karapatakis, denied what Ander Mourinho supported, about his own decision to prosecute Anthony Iraola.
The former player and technical director of the Larnaca team, in his statements to a foreign media, said: “My bet for Anthony was probably dangerous because he had no experience. I know him personally, I knew his character and his ideas as a coach, so the decision was simple. He left a very good impression here, especially because regardless of his results he was one of the coaches who showed the best football, his teams are very recognizable. Here he was fired by decision of the president, he was quite fast, but it certainly helped him learn. He reads the game a lot. His progress is evident, his development led him to the first division and everything shows that one day he will coach Athletic Bilbao. It depends on him. “Maybe another team of the first category will train for a year and after”.
In his posts on larnakasports, after these statements, the administrative leader of the black and greens clarified:
