The Minister of Transport, Communications and Works, Giannis Karousos, met yesterday in Athens with the Minister of Infrastructure and Transport of Greece, Konstantinos Karamanlis.
During the visit, which took place at the invitation of Mr. Karamanlis, various views and suggestions were exchanged regarding the wide range of electrification. The two sides informed each other about the goals they have set and the practices they follow to achieve these goals and it was decided to continue the close cooperation between them with the ultimate goal of further promoting e-mobility in Cyprus and Greece.
During the contacts between the two parties, the issue of the Declaration on Air Connectivity was also discussed, which is an initiative of Cyprus and was prepared jointly with 7 other EU Member States, including Greece. In addition, a number of issues of common interest related to transport, infrastructure and other public works were discussed.
The wide-ranging meeting of the bilateral working group was attended by the Director General of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works, the Director of the Road Transport Department and the Deputy Director of the Electromechanical Services Department, and the Deputy Minister service agents.
Finally, having in mind the continuation of the constructive cooperation that exists between the two Ministries, Mr. Karousos and Mr. Karamanlis discussed various issues related to the responsibilities of the two Ministries.
