The Ministry of Foreign Affairs requested the immediate release of the Turkish businessman, Osman Kavala, based on the rulings of the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) of the Council of Europe (CoE).
In a post on Twitter, the Cypriot Foreign Minister notes that “Osman Kavala should be released immediately, in accordance with the legally binding decision of the ECtHR”.
Osman Kavala was sentenced to life in prison by an Istanbul court, after facing 17 charges in connection with the events in Gezi Park.
