Kurdish politician Kenan Ayaz sent a message to the Cypriot people, expressing his thanks for the support and solidarity.
Looking back on his life, from his capture by the Turkish state at a young age, torture and imprisonment, states that in 2010 he came to Cyprus and requested political and state asylum. His residence was accepted and from the date of his application he officially lives in Cyprus.
What is being tried here, he says, is the struggle of an oppressed and occupied people and the struggle of peoples to live freely together.< /p>
"Fighting for a just cause cannot be classified as "terrorism" or “terrorist act”. The people of Cyprus know better that this is not the case. Because the people of Cyprus know very closely the authoritarian and murderous approaches of the fascist Turkish state”.
He expresses the hope the Cypriot judiciary to take a decision "taking into account all this reality" because, as it states, his extradition to Germany will in effect mean that I will "surrender to the fascist Turkish state", and he expresses confidence that the people of Cyprus will support the struggle for freedom.
