The Producer Price Index in Industry for the month of April 2022 reached 123.8 points (base 2015 = 100), recording an increase of 19.5% compared to April 2021, according to data from the Statistical Service.
Increases were recorded in all sectors compared to April 2021. Electricity supply increased by 43.6%, water supply and materials recovery by 27.2%, processing by 13% and mines and quarries by 4.4%.

By manufacturing sector, in April 2022, compared to the corresponding month of the previous year, increases were recorded in all economic activities, with the most important being in the wood industry, which increased by 37.2%, in the production of basic metals and construction of metal products, with 33.4%, in the manufacture of products from rubber and plastics by 18.8%, in the production of other non-metallic mineral products by 12.2% and in the manufacture of machinery and equipment, motor vehicles and other transport equipment with 12.2 %.
According to the data of the Statistical Service, the increase that occurred in April 2022 compared to the previous month, in March 2022 amounts to 2.1%. During this period, the index remained stable in the field of electricity supply, while it increased in the sectors of processing by 2.8%, water supply and material recovery by 0.7% and mines and quarries by 0.5%.
For the period January-April 2022, the index increased by 17.3% compared to the corresponding period of 2021.
