The Larnaca District Court today sentenced a 43-year-old man, who was driving under the influence of alcohol, to 30 days in prison, 8 degrees in the driver's license and deprivation of the driver's license for four months.

As Haris Hatzigiasemi, Head of the Larnaca Traffic Department, told KYPE, yesterday around 2 at noon, a 43-year-old resident of Larnaca was driving his car on Spyros Kyprianou Avenue, heading from the roundabout to the port. “Famagusta” stadium.

At some point on the road, the driver did not notice in time the vehicle in front, which had stopped at a red traffic light, causing it to hit the back. As a result of the collision, the vehicle moved and in turn hit a vehicle in front, which also stopped at the red light.

The collisions did not result in any injuries to the drivers, but the three vehicles were damaged.

Members of the Larnaca Traffic Branch went to the scene for examinations and in a preliminary alcohol test performed on the 43-year-old it was found that he had 129 μg in his body instead of 9 μg which is the allowed limit, due to the fact that he is a new driver.
