He is accused of a serious case of usurpation of Greek Cypriot properties in the occupied territories

The Turkish Cypriot lawyer Akan Kursiat, who is accused of a serious case of usurpation of Greek Cypriots, was transferred to Cyprus properties in occupied Klepini in the province of Kyrenia. Kourciat, who has been wanted since 2005 (a national arrest warrant was issued), was arrested on New Year's Eve in Rome where he traveled from Istanbul, with Italian prosecutors executing a European warrant outstanding from 2007. The Turkish Cypriot lawyer was taken to court in Rome and had initially filed an objection to his extradition to the Republic of Cyprus. The hearing of the appeal was set for February 6, however, on February 2 he changed his stance and informed through his lawyers that he consents to his extradition to Cyprus.

The Turkish Cypriot lawyer is being investigated for conspiracy, extortion false representations, cover-up offences, as well as illegal possession and use of land.
