The European Parliament approved the candidacy of DISY MEP, Lefteris Christoforou, at the European Court of Auditors.
Mr. Christoforou's candidacy was supported by 549 votes in favor, 69 against and 11 abstentions. George Marius Hyzler's candidacy for Malta was also approved, with 551 votes in favor, 45 against and 33 abstentions. .
The spotlight is now on the replacement of Lefteris Christoforos in the European Parliament. The first runner-up for the position is DISY MP Nikos Tornaritis. In case Mr. Tornaritis rejects the position, the second runner-up is Eleni Stavrou.
