Lidl Cyprus emerged as a Top Employer for the 4th consecutive year

The constant effort for improvement and continuous investments are in the philosophy of Lidl Cyprus, which is not only an attractive working environment but also an example of how business success is based on human resources.

Lidl Cyprus was awarded for the 4th consecutive year , by the internationally recognized organization Top Employer s Institute, with the title of Top Employer, in Cyprus and Europe for the support to its employees, for the salaries and benefits, for the corporate culture, but and for the training and development opportunities it offers.

The companies that receive the Top Employer certification seek to put their employees at the center of their business activity and to provide them with an exemplary working environment. This year, the Top Employers Institute has identified and awarded over 1,600 top employers from 120 countries and territories across 5 continents.

“This year is the 4th consecutive year that we are certified as a Top Employer. 2020 was a different year, very demanding for all of us. All our employees, in the stores, in the logistics center and in the offices, had to adapt to the new conditions – each team in a different way. And we did it. We ensured a safe, healthy working environment, maintained our jobs and salaries, and rewarded our over 620 employees with additional benefits totaling € 600,000. All this, and the continuous improvement in personnel issues that the Human Resources team takes care of, is what ensured us such an important recognition for another year “, said Spyros Kondylis, General Manager of Lidl Cyprus.

Lidl Cyprus, as every year, this year, will invest more than 170,000 euros in the training and development of its employees, and over 150,000 million euros in welfare programs and actions for its employees. Guided by its employees, its goal is to further shape a safe and optimistic work environment, to ensure equal opportunities for development and growth and to recognize performance with objective and merit-based criteria.

It also plans new hires in a variety of jobs in stores, logistics centers and offices, further strengthening its presence in the Greek retail market with the aim of remaining the employer of choice, with stability and responsibility.
