The environmental authority gave the green light for the expansion of the premises of the Holy Monastery of Agios Minas in the community of Vavla.
The approval given concerns, among other things, the construction of sanitary facilities for the public due to the increased attendance and an underground garage of agricultural machinery in the northern part of the Monastery.
This provides for the demolition of an existing building on the east side of the building and the construction of a new building.
The new building will consist of basement and ground floor and will include small and large dining room, kitchen with refrigerators and storage, library, office and sanitary facilities on the ground floor, while the basement will include pelican, workshop area and laundry and refrigerator areas.
The Holy Monastery of Agios Minas dates from the 15th century.
