Just one day after Kanye West made comments about Lizzo and her weight on Tucker Carlson Tonight, the singer shared during a concert at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto how she feels about celebrities commenting on her weight.
“I feel like everyone in America is putting my name in their mouths for no reason,” she appears to say — without mentioning Kanye's name — in a video shared by TMZ. “I care about my thick, black and beautiful work.” Referring to all the chatter around her, Lizzo joked that she might just stay in Canada, saying: 'Can I stay here? Who can I marry for this dual citizenship?''
During Kanye's Oct. 7 interview with Fox News, he referenced the singer while talking about comments on social media.
“When Lizzo loses 10 pounds and announces it, the bots… on Instagram, will attack her for losing weight because the media wants to make the perception that overweight is the new goal,” she said. “When it's actually unhealthy.”
“Let's get away from the fact if it's fashion and Vogue, which it's not, or if someone thinks it's attractive to them,” Kanye continued. “It's actually clinically unhealthy. For people to promote that, it's demonic.”
