The British government welcomes the announcement of the resumption of exploratory talks between Greece and Turkey.
In a post on Twitter, Undersecretary of State for European Neighborhood Policy Wendy Morton noted that “Turkey and Greece remain close friends of the United Kingdom and strong allies in NATO.”
He added that the British government welcomes the “positive decision” of the two countries to resume talks later this month to seek a solution to tensions in the Aegean.
“This will help ensure stability and prosperity in the Eastern Mediterranean,” she said.
