In March, the UN Secretary General's Special Envoy for Cyprus, Jane Hall Lut, is expected to visit Cyprus again for meetings with the President of the Republic, Nikos Anastasiadis, and the Turkish leader, Ersin Tatar, in preparation for the informal conference on the Cyprus issue, which is expected to take place in late April in Geneva.
A competent source stated to KYPE, answering a question, that “there is an intention to visit Mr. Lut”. “We have not discussed practical details yet, but it will probably be the second week of March,” he added.
In the meantime, in the afternoon, a new meeting of the legal-constitutional group, which has been set up, will take place in Nicosia, in preparation for the informal conference.
The Government Spokesman, Kyriakos Kousios, had stated on Friday in KYPE that “the members of this group have studied various issues, which have been brought before them, and the discussion of the results of the work they have done has already begun”, noting that today On Monday, there will be a new meeting of the group “to discuss specific legal issues concerning the substance of the Cyprus issue and the informal pentagram”.
At the same time, he noted, the President of the Republic has met with the negotiating team “and intends to utilize all members of the negotiating team, especially in the areas in which they have dealt, as well as utilizing the contribution of specialist constitutionalists, lawyers.”
