The independent candidate for the Presidency of the Republic, Marios Iliadis, appears satisfied with the satisfaction of his request regarding the conduct of televised debates with the participation of the candidates who do not have party support.
In a statement, he welcomes and accepts the public invitation of the president of DISY, Averof Neophytou, for the immediate start of the debates, while he agrees with the view of Mr. Neophytos that “the election campaign can not be conducted only through Social Media, by personal monologues or with candidates hidden from the people “and also calls on RIK and the private television stations to take the necessary actions for the organization of the telemachines.

I welcome and accept the public invitation of my fellow candidate for the Presidency of the Republic, Mr. Averof Neophytou, for the immediate start of televised debates among all the candidates for the Presidency of the Republic, in order to enable the citizens to listen and compare, without exclusions and divisions, the positions and views of all of us.
This was also my proposal for which, in a letter to all the other independent candidates, I suggested taking joint steps and initiatives. p>
I also agree with Mr. Neophytou, that the election campaign can not be conducted only through Social Media, personal monologues or with candidates hidden from the people.
It was and is my belief that the public and open dialogue, the exchange of arguments and views and the well-meaning political confrontation of positions and ideas, is an integral part of any advanced democracy, the obligation of every person claiming public office but also the right of citizens, which no one can deny.
