Israeli Croesus Gilad Shabtai, best known for the sale of a majority stake in Viber, a company registered in Cyprus, which was sold in 2014 against $ 900 million, intends to invest in a “mammoth”, on land he bought next to the casino resort under construction in Zakaki.
Mr. Shabtai recently completed the purchase of more than 130,000 sq.m. next to the City of Dreams Mediterranean, most of which by Cyprus Fassouri Plantation Holdings Ltd, a member of the CNS Shacolas Group and a smaller company. A source who shared the plans of the Israeli tycoon told us that after obtaining the necessary permits, he will proceed with the construction of high-rise buildings, with 7-star services, as they will include apartments, restaurants, offices, shops and other entertainment and wellness areas. The same source told us that Mr. Shabtai strongly believes in the development of the area, which in combination with the casino and golf course, which is under construction, will be a pole of attraction for many investors. In fact, they consider that this investment is of double importance, as it takes place after the abolition of the country's investment program.
Mr. Shabtai, commenting on the development plans on our island, expressed the view that Cyprus has a huge potential of opportunities in the real estate sector. He added that this project will be a trigger for greater development and investment in a wider context, emphasizing that they have implemented a long-term investment program, which will undoubtedly be mutually beneficial, both for the economy of Cyprus and its people, and for the investors themselves. The Tel Aviv-based Shabtai maintains successful commercial ventures in a variety of sectors, including real estate and technology. New 73 meter tower in Limassol
The environmental authority gave the green light for the construction of a 73 meter high building, for office and commercial use, of the company “Avalanti Holding Ltd” in the municipality of Limassol and specifically in the parish of Omonia. According to the environmental impact study submitted by the owner company, the investment includes 12 floors and 3 basements, including the ground floor, 2 service floors, mezzanine and level of mechanical installations, therefore it is a tall building.
The plots in which the project will be erected are located at an altitude of 7 meters above the average sea level and have a total area of 2709 sq.m. The estimated ground coverage from the project is 65%.
Specifically the levels of the building (floors) will consist of the following areas:

Net profits of € 3.3 million and pre-forecast profits of € 18 million were recorded by AstroBank for 2021, a fact that stems from the new, more rational organizational structure of the bank and the focused business efforts. It was also announced the reduction of Non-Performing Sponsorships (NPLs) to 25.6% at the end of 2021, from 30.3% last year. The Bank's Capital Adequacy Ratio rose to 16.58%, compared to 15.02% in 2020, with the improvement reflecting the internal capitalization through profitability and the redistribution of capital commitments in assets. At the same time, AstroBank continued to strengthen its presence with new loans amounting to € 240 million almost exclusively in the Cypriot market. One third of them concerned the retail banking sector and mainly the government loan subsidy plan while the rest were loans to small and medium enterprises. The bank has sold properties worth € 29 million in 2021, while properties worth around € 30 million have been sold or agreed to date until 2022. AstroBank employs about 420 people and has 15 branches nationwide with total assets of approximately € 3 billion and equity € 190 million as of December 31, 2021. & nbsp; & nbsp;

Sponsorships € 370,000 for 15 new projects
The Yianis Christodoulou Foundation (YCF), founded by Mr. John Christodoulou in 2016, announced this week the sponsorship of 15 new projects in Cyprus, totaling € 370,000. The projects are related to the support and upgrading of the infrastructure of several public schools in Cyprus. The sponsorships, among others, concern the purchase of new school equipment, special software, building infrastructure and the undertaking to cover the costs for small-scale construction needs of the school units. The completion of the works will be inaugurated in special festive events in the presence of the founder of the foundation Mr. John Christodoulou. His presence and participation in the festive events is expected to be given by Mr. Christian Moore, son of the famous actor Roger Moore, who had an active participation in the charity event in Limassol.
