Many people participated in the Race for the Cure march in Limassol

Prevention is the greatest cure against cancer, emphasized once again those who participated in the Race for the Cure, the largest sports event in the world, for women's health in Europe. Race for the Cure is organized in 150 cities  with total entries in excess of one million worldwide.

The march, under the auspices of Europa Donna, took place in the morning for the first time in Limassol, specifically along the embankment by the German Oncology Center and s’ this was attended by a large number of people.  The launch took place in the square of the old port, in the presence of the President of the Health Committee of the Parliament Efthymios Diplaros, the founder and Medical Director of the GOK Nikolaos Zampoglou and the Executive Director of Europa Donna Cyprus Marios Charalambidis.

In statements the medical director of the German Oncology Center, Nikos Zamboglou, underlined the importance of prevention in the treatment of cancer.  Mr. Zamboglou referred to the German Oncology offer, which he said will be renamed the German Medical Institute and will now have a diagnostic,  surgical Department and all medical services in general.  He mentioned that the Center, which closed on October 30, 5 years of life, has been visited by more than 36 thousand patients to date and all the services it provides are within the NHS.

For his part, the President of the Health Committee of the Parliament Efthymios Diplaros mentioned  to the right of cancer patients to be forgotten.  Regarding breast cancer, he called on women to have regular check-ups.

During the event, t-shirts were made available for sale, the proceeds of which were given to Europa Donna Cyprus.
