Martis March puts himself out of DIKO – He turns his “fires” against the leadership – “I have evidence of unethical behavior moving and undermining my candidacy”

The resignation from DIKO is announced by party member Martis Martis , who was a candidate for Mayor of Ayia Napa, at the same time turning his “fire” against the party's leadership.

In his open letter of resignation, he accuses the MP of DIKO Famagusta Christos Sennekis for undermining his candidacy, while at the same time blaming President of the party Nikolas Papadopoulos, for his electoral defeat. Specifically, he speaks of Mr. Papadopoulos's boldness in a series of issues related to his candidacy, which were among the main ones reasons for his electoral defeat. With his letter, he requests deletion from the party's registers.

    This is his letter:

“I hereby inform you of my decision to leave the ranks of DIKO and request that I be deleted from the membership registers.

I have come to this very difficult decision due to the behavior DIKO executives against my candidacy for the mayorship of Ayia Napa.

Specifically, the party's deputy in Famagusta, Christos Senekis, did absolutely nothing to support my candidacy. Rather, I have evidence of unethical behavior by moving and undermining my candidacy. As for the president of DIKO, Nikolas Papadopoulos, the audacity he displayed in a series of issues related to my candidacy was one of the main reasons for my electoral defeat.

For these reasons , I consider that my long-term presence at DIKO Famagusta comes to an end today. I believe that as a party, with its current leadership, it has completed its historical cycle and the unacceptable behavior of its executives leaves me no other choice than the one imposed by my dignity.

My resignation is effective from today”.
