The Ministry of Health in the context of its efforts to ensure the proper operation of restaurants and entertainment venues and the implementation of the instructions contained in the Special Protocol that comes into force from tomorrow, Thursday, February 24, 2022 at 10 am, proceeds in the following variations:
The maximum number of people in restaurants, entertainment centers, music and dance centers is 500 people , given that its area space allows the ratio of 1.5 sq.m. per person.
Specifically:
a) Dining areas (restaurants, taverns, cafes, pubs, snack bars, bars, cafes), which include a dance floor and have more than 225 sq.m. available service area (excluding kitchens, toilets, storage areas) and can accommodate more than 150 people , entry will be allowed:
- In people 12 years and older who have a valid negative antigen test ( Rapid test ) valid for 15 hours regardless of vaccination coverage or certificate of recovery .
- Children aged 6-11 who have a valid negative antigen test ( Rapid test ) valid for 7 days regardless of vaccination coverage or certificate of recovery .
- It is emphasized that the owner/manager of the premises/company must inform the Ministry of Health with a signed written responsible statement that his premises will accommodate more than 150 people based on its square footage and will provide music and dance entertainment, but also the details of the address: healthservices@mphs.moh.gov.cy (The Responsible Statement is included in the Special Protocol).
β) Dining areas (restaurants, taverns, cafes, pubs, snack bars, bars, cafes), regardless of capacity including dance floor entry will be allowed:
- Individuals without a history of vaccination with a Rapid or PCR test 24 hours.
- Individuals 12 years of age and older who have completed their immunization program, or received a booster dose, or who have a disease certificate with a valid vaccination or disease certificate on display.
- In children 6-11 years with a history of vaccination with a valid vaccination or disease certificate, or no history of vaccination with a valid negative antigen test ( Rapid > test ) valid for 7 days.
- Dancing is allowed around the table.
c) Nightclubs Music and dance centers, which have in addition to 225 sq.m. available service space (excluding kitchens, toilets, warehouses) and can serve them > over 150 people , entry is allowed:
- People 12 years and older holding a valid negative antigen test ( Rapid test ) valid for 15 hours regardless of vaccination coverage or certificate of recovery .
- Children aged 6-11 who have a valid negative antigen test ( Rapid test ) valid for 7 days regardless of vaccination coverage or certificate of recovery .
d) Entertainment centers, music and dance centers, which based on the square meters serve less than 150 people , entry is allowed:
- In people without a history of vaccination with test screening Rapid or PCR power 24 hours.
- Individuals 12 years of age and older who have completed their immunization program, or received a booster dose, or who have a disease certificate with a valid vaccination or disease certificate on display.
- In children 6-11 years with a history of vaccination with a valid vaccination or disease certificate, or no history of vaccination with a valid negative antigen test ( Rapid > test ) valid for 7 days.
Citizens will be screened by submitting a negative test in print or in a text message, or by presenting the vaccination or disease certificate in printed or digital form, while the person will be identified by presenting proof of identity (identity card, passport, driver's license and birth certificate for children under 12 years).
