Six Mayors and five Community Leaders of the free and occupied province of Famagusta support the Metropolitan of Constantia – Famagusta Vasilios, for the upcoming Archbishop elections.
In a written announcement by the Support Group, it is stated that “in the Diocese of Constantia and Famagusta, all the local rulers of the province of Famagusta met to express their support for Metropolitan Basilios for the upcoming Archbishop's elections. The province of Famagusta supports Metropolitan Vasilios as a whole, recognizing his love, pastoral and spiritual support, his work for the people and the province”.
In a meeting held in the Diocese, the Mayors of Famagusta Simos Ioannou, Lefkonikou participated Zina Lysandrou, Theodoros Pyrillis of Paralimni, Christos Zannetos of Ayia Napa, Andros Karagiannis of Deryneia and Sotiras Georgios Takkas. The Community Leaders Avgorou Panagis Michaelas, Achnas Nikos Vasilas, Frenarous Michalis Hatzigiorkas, Acheritos Michalis Kaunas and Liopetriou Tassos Manolis as well as a number of Municipal and Community Councilors also participated.
