The Medochemie Pharmaceutical Company was founded in 1976 by Dr. Andreas Pittas and its philosophy is based on providing quality and affordable medication to all people around the world. It is ranked among the top 200 companies of reactive drugs in the world, holds 28.9% of the industrial exports of Cyprus and employs 1,880 people worldwide, of which 60% are scientists.
Productive capacity
It has thirteen state-of-the-art production units, which have been designed in accordance with the applicable rules of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) of the European Union and the World Health Organization. The nine units are located in Cyprus, one in the Netherlands and three in Vietnam, where a wide range of products beyond the ten therapeutic categories is manufactured.

Medochemie has acquired and maintains 4,355 licenses worldwide through 630 different product combinations. It has local offices in 21 countries and exports to 107 countries, enabling more than 300 million people worldwide to use its products.

Medochemie products are classified into 10 main categories which include: cardiovascular, antibiotics, central nervous system, gastroenterological, anti-diabetic, dermatological, endocrinological, respiratory, analgesic etc. It also manufactures and markets a wide range of high quality nutritional supplements and other over-the-counter (OTC) branded products.

44 years of steady growth
Despite the contraction in almost all sectors of the Cypriot economy, as a result of the pandemic from COVID-19, Medochemie did not bend and did not succumb to the economic downturn. The criticality of the moments demanded the adequacy of medicines and imposed the need for the smooth operation of the local pharmaceutical industry. The use of technology provided practical solutions, with the development of distance working in any areas that could be applied, through which a significant number of activities were carried out, which contributed effectively to achieve the continuous operation of departments directly related to production processes. and to continue the production of medicines in all 13 production units, both for the Cypriot market and for the 107 countries with which Medochemie cooperates. Despite restrictions on transport, deliveries of medicines continued, albeit with some delays.
Medochemie for 44 years, continues to grow steadily and dynamically in its sector, in addition to the growth rate of the local economy, while contributing to the Cypriot GDP, about 1.5%.
