The arrests by the authorities of the Republic of Cyprus of people involved in cases of usurpation of Greek Cypriot land in the occupied territories were discussed in a meeting held by the “prime minister” Unal Ustel.
According to a statement from Ustel's office, the meeting was attended by the “Deputy Prime Minister”, “Minister of Tourism and Environment” Fikri Ataoglou, “Minister of the Interior” Dursun Oguz, President of the Turkish Association of Construction Contractors Jaffer Gurjafer , as well as some “investors, lawyers and bureaucrats” as mentioned.
At the meeting, where the legal and financial dimensions of the arrests were discussed in detail, the participants assessed the possible effects of these measures of the Republic of Cyprus on the Turkish Cypriots.
The meeting also focused on the countermeasures the illegal regime could take against the steps taken by the Republic of Cyprus.
In his speech at the meeting, Ustel said that such actions by the “Greek Cypriot administration against the tdvk” – as reported to the Government of the Republic of Cyprus and the pseudo-state, respectively – are aimed at victimizing the T/k and he added that all necessary measures will be taken to protect the rights of the pseudo-state in this process.
