Meeting of the Association of Lobbyists with the Anti-Corruption Authority

The legislation regulating lobbying, which was enacted last February, was the focus of a delegation meeting of the board of the Cyprus Association of Lobbyists and Public Affairs Professionals (LPAP – www.lpap .cy) with the President and Members of the Independent Anti-Corruption Authority, which is the competent authority for the purposes of implementing the relevant legislation.
According to yesterday's announcement by the Association, the LPAP board informed the Principle that he has already started organizing informative seminars to inform the Cypriot public about the provisions of the new legislation.
He organized such seminars in collaboration with SELK, KEBE and OEB. He also asked to be informed when the Authority will start its normal operation and when the registry for the registration of lobbyists and the reporting system of meetings between lobbyists and officials will be ready.
The Authority, according to the announcement , stated that at this stage it is waiting for the approval of its operating rules by the Parliament and that it hopes to be able to start operating normally in the first half of the new year. It was also mentioned that an online portal will be created for meeting registry and reporting.
