The Cyprus Association of Financial Analysts (CFA Society Cyprus) presented its priorities in a meeting with the Minister of Finance, Konstantinos Petridis.
The meeting took place in a cordial and constructive atmosphere at the Ministry of Finance, with the members of the Association declaring their readiness to offer any assistance deemed necessary, especially in matters in which CFA Cyprus takes action.
As stated by the President of the CFA Society Cyprus Panagiotis Mavromichalis, during the meeting they analyzed the goals of the Association, making special reference to the effort to combat financial illiteracy. At the same time, he said, they discussed ways in which, as members of the global CFA community and the CFA Institute, they can contribute to the development and rationalization of the financial sector, with the ultimate goal of improving the country's standard of living.
Reference was also made to the ways of utilizing the connections of CFA Cyprus with the office of the CFA Institute in Brussels, with the aim of offering know-how in the formulation of local laws, for harmonization of Cyprus with the increasing number of directives and legislations at European level.
The Cyprus Association of Financial Analysts (CFA Society Cyprus) is the local affiliate of the CFA Institute, which is based in Virginia, USA and has over 160,000 members worldwide.
The primary goal of the CFA is to highlight the value of the financial advisor in matters relating to sound financial planning at the level of companies and individuals. It also provides know-how, with the aim of improving the operation of Regulatory Authorities and the Government.
The members of the Association are considered to be the most trained in theoretical and practical level, to analyze issues related to Financial Science and in particular investments.
