A meeting between the Cyprus Association of Electronic Money and Payment Institutions (ACEMPI) and the Central Bank of Cyprus took place on Wednesday, May 31, 2023.
The President, together with members of the Board, informed Mr. Konstantinos Herodotou, Governor of the Central Bank of Cyprus and officials of the competent Supervision Department of the Central Bank of Cyprus, regarding the Association's actions aimed at the development of the sector as well as protection, but also the representation of the professional interests of the members of the Association.
The President of the Association, Mr Ioannis Georgoulas, stated that the meeting was constructive and that he hopes for a close cooperation with the Central Bank of Cyprus.

During the meeting the role and responsibilities of the Central Bank of Cyprus regarding the supervision of electronic money institutions and payment institutions were also discussed, what the Central Bank of Cyprus expects from the supervised institutions as well as the sanctions of the European Union, the United Nations and other countries. Finally, the permanent communication and exchange of views between the Association and the Central Bank of Cyprus was agreed.
