Information from the management team regarding the forecasts that led to the request for a 6% increase in the tariffs of the Cyprus Electricity Authority for this year will be requested by the Board of Directors, in order to reach its final decisions, the new President of the Authority Giorgos Petrou told KYPE. data-block-key=”6rak1″>”Today we will ask management to present us with the figures to justify the 6% to begin work immediately with the finance committee (of the board) to review the numbers,” he said.
Mr. Petrou noted that the Board of Directors has taken the decision that the investment for the upgrade of the Dekelia station is limited to only the two necessary production units with a total capacity of 80 MW (40MW each) worth approximately €60 million . instead of the entire project whose total value exceeds €110 million.
“Today we will announce it to the management team and start asking for the data so that the committee of finance that we appointed to go ahead and study the data together with the managers to come to a conclusion and after it is concluded we will submit it”, he said, explaining that if the final data will be different then a new request will be submitted to the Cyprus Energy Regulatory Authority.
