Melco Resorts & Entertainment, management company of Cyprus Casinos (C2) and City of Dreams Mediterranean, Europe's first multi-theme resort, has been honored by Asia's leading gaming awards body, the Asia Gaming Awards 2023, for its achievements in the Best Program categories Responsible Gaming and Outstanding Contribution to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
These awards recognize the effectiveness of Melco's Responsible Gaming (RG) initiatives and the company's commitment to developing and maintaining a culture of responsible gaming wherever it operates. In addition, the awards recognize the company's contribution to prevention, as well as the development of innovative corporate social responsibility actions, aimed at giving back to the local community, through the Simple Acts of Kindness volunteering program, which bears Melco's signature.

In 2021, City of Dreams, Studio City and Altira Macau became the first resorts in Macau to receive RG Check accreditation from the internationally prestigious Responsible Gambling Council. RG Check is the world's most comprehensive responsible gaming accreditation program. Having received this accreditation for both its Manila and Cyprus resorts – the first resort in Europe to receive the accreditation – Melco has become the first operator in the world to have its entire portfolio of resorts certified with RG Check. Melco scored above the industry average in the areas of Responsible Gaming Policy, Strategy and Culture, demonstrating its commitment to this area.
The Acts of Kindness in Macau volunteer program >
Since 2020, Melco's President and CEO, Mr. Lawrence Ho, has motivated the company's workforce to support the local community, during working hours, by encouraging employees to take care of the community through Simple Acts of Kindness. The program's philosophy is based on the principle that small acts can have a big impact and that every person can do something to touch the hearts of their fellow human beings. In 2022, the company recorded 20,650 participations in CSR programs, in more than 2,200 voluntary activities – a number equivalent to 185 activities per month – for the benefit of the elderly, children, small and medium enterprises and other local community entities, through partnerships with local NGOs and community partners of Melco.
