“A very important meeting, long overdue” – The Memoranda signed – Private meeting of PtD with the King of Jordan
The President of the Republic met with the King of Jordan and the Prime Minister of Greece in the context of the Tripartite Summit of Cyprus – Greece – Jordan, in Nicosia.
The President of the Republic Mr. Nikos Christodoulidis received today, at the Presidential Palace, the King of Jordan Abdullah II and the Prime Minister of Greece Mr. Kyriakos Mitsotakis, who, at the head of their delegations, attended a working lunch within the framework of the 4th consecutive Tripartite Summit of Cyprus – Greece – Jordan.
In their private tripartite meeting, President Christodoulidis said that ” today is a very important meeting, long overdue, the last one was in 2021. I look forward to our discussions on how to deepen our cooperation, to exchange views on the situation in the Middle East. Yesterday we had a positive development with the agreement between Israel and Lebanon, and let's see how we move forward considering that we have a new American Administration. And, of course, we will discuss issues concerning EU-Jordan relations. Greece and Cyprus are strong supporters of upgrading this relationship to a strategic relationship. “
This was followed in person by the signing of Memoranda of Understanding between the three countries and expanded consultations of the delegations of the three countries.
The Memoranda signed are: Tripartite Memorandum of Understanding for cooperation in the field of Water Resources, Tripartite Memorandum of Understanding for cooperation in the field of Education, particularly in the fields of Environmental Education and Education for Sustainable Development, and Tripartite Memorandum of Understanding for cooperation in the field of Investments with the aim of strengthening economic and trade ties.
Pr.D.'s private meeting with the King of Jordan
The President of the Republic, Mr. Nikos Christodoulides, had a private meeting with the King of Jordan this afternoon, at the Presidential Palace. Abdullah II.
The meeting followed the proceedings of the Tripartite Summit Meeting of Cyprus – Greece – Jordan, with the participation of the Prime Minister of Greece, Mr. Kyriakos Mitsotakis, which took place at the Presidential Palace.
Following the private meeting, the Foreign Ministers of the two countries signed, in the presence of the leaders, a Bilateral Memorandum between the Republic of Cyprus and Jordan, for cooperation in the field of Small and Medium Enterprises.
