In a post on social media, the president of KOA, Andreas Michailidis, refers to the renovation works of the Fytideio Sports Center (old GSO), emphasizing that he hopes that the bad image he has been presenting for years and quoting information about the projects will end soon.
< p style = "text-align: justify;"> Details of what Michael writes:
The renovation works of the Phytideion Sports Center (old GSO) have recently started and we hope that this beautiful image that this historical monument presents here for many years will be finished soon. Although the effort started from the previous administration, from the day we took over the new administration of KOA, we set as our main goal to end this unacceptable situation. In collaboration with the Municipality of Limassol and especially the friend Mayor, but also the then administration of TEPAK, we ran the issue a lot and we had a result. We thank the Anastasiadis government and especially the then YPOIK friend Haris Georgiadis, for the grant of the whole project with the amount of € 1.5m.
On the occasion of the start of the construction works of A 'Phase 14/3, we visited the construction site together with the Mayor & amp; his associates, the architect, the engineers, the contractors, etc., while my colleague at the Board of Directors, KOA Andreas Mylonas, accompanied me. Phase A projects include the upgrade & amp; reopening of the 3 courts (2 for mini football & amp; 1 for basketball-volleyball-tennis), as well as the renovation of the square. The completion of the projects is expected by the next June 2022. Phase B includes the building infrastructure, such as gyms, the Museum of Sports History of GSO (with a separate budget of the Municipality of Lsos) & amp; the Restaurant/Cafeteria, and are expected to be offered for construction in the coming months.
In his statements, the Mayor of Limassol stated that this space will finally acquire the appearance function befitting a historic sports center in the heart of the city. He expressed his belief that this time the goal of operating the Center as a place of mass sports will be achieved & amp; socialization. We on behalf of the CMO stressed that a key commitment of the Organization, owner of the old GSO, is finally being implemented and that we will offer to the city of Limassol & amp; its citizens an opportunity to move & amp; sports in the center, despite the mistakes made in the past. TEPAK students of course will enjoy the comfort & amp; use of the space at specific times, while the various training programs of the CMO will be included.
